OLYMPIC WEIGHTLIFTING · ASCOT VALE
Technical coaching for the snatch, clean and jerk—and the foundational positions that make the lifts more repeatable.
TECHNICAL LIFTS, CLEARER TEACHING
Olympic weightlifting asks for strength, speed, timing and mobility to arrive in the same movement. Coaching makes the learning process less chaotic.
George uses progressions, position work and appropriate variations to help lifters understand what is happening from the floor to the receiving position. The full lifts matter, but so does choosing the drill that addresses the actual problem.
WHAT THE COACHING FOCUSES ON
Coaching turns the broad goal into practical decisions you can repeat, review and progress.
Develop the pull, turnover and receiving position with progressions matched to current skill.
Build a controlled first pull, connected extension and a stronger receiving position.
Improve the dip, drive, footwork and overhead position needed for a stable finish.
Use strength, mobility and positional work to support the technical lifts rather than chase them blindly.
WHO THIS SUITS
You do not need to arrive as an expert. The plan should reflect where you are now and what you are ready to build.
Beginners who want to learn the Olympic lifts through clear progressions rather than guesswork.
Strength athletes adding the snatch or clean and jerk to their training for skill or power.
Experienced lifters who want to review positions, timing or a recurring technical breakdown.
THE COACHING PROCESS
Clarify the goal, training history, current experience and practical constraints.
Create a program and exercise approach that match the work in front of you.
Improve set-up, execution and the quality of each working session.
Review progress and change the plan when the evidence says it is time.
